Sebastian 3rd Grader in Google Finals

Posted by billero on May 15th, 2008

doodlegoogle.jpgA local third-grader at Sebastian Elementary has drawn her way into the ‘Doodle4Google’ finals. The contest, entitled, “What if…”, encouraged students around the United States, grades K-12, to draw a picture and write a short story based around the theme. Thousands of entries were submitted, and only 40 finalists were selected.

Cierra Purvis, 9, from Sebastian Elementary, was one of the lucky finalists. If she wins, she will get $10,000 towards a college scholarship and $25,000 for a technology grant for Sebastian Elementary.

This is such a great honor for Cierra, so let’s get the word out and help her win! You can log onto:

www.google.com/doodle4google

You have until Sunday, May 18th to vote and Cierra’s entry is located in the Region 4 section.

Now, I’d say Sebastian has some talent!

GO CIERRA!!

It’s O’Billero on St. Patrick’s Day

Posted by billero on March 19th, 2008

stpatricksday1.jpgBillero & Billero Properties celebrated St. Patrick’s Day the right way: with good hearty food and delightful company. Susan Billero, co-owner of Billero & Billero Properties, likes to keep her Irish roots alive each year by providing her famous corned-beef sandwiches and “Dottie” cake to the entire office, as well as anyone in the community who would like to join. Each year, the outside of the office showcases five kelly green “Open House” signs and the inside of the office brings together the office’s 47 agents, along with friends of the community. Everyone gathers around excitedly to share wholesome stories and green beer.

The annual St. Patrick’s Day celebration is something everyone looks forward to the Billero office hosting. Not only does the environment create a warm family atmosphere, but it allows the agents and community members to relax and truly enjoy one another’s company.

If you would like to get back in touch with your Irish roots or are craving a little cottage in Ireland, Billero & Billero Properties can make your dreams come true. The company’s affiliation with the Leading Real Estate Companies of the World organization can help you to own a get-a-way destination abroad. Billero & Billero Properties can also assist with home sales, rentals and business opportunities in over 33 countries.

Great breakfast place!

Posted by billero on March 5th, 2008

breakfast.jpgEvery Sunday as I take a spin down US-1 in Sebastian I pass this tiny little breakfast place. The outside of the joint usually showcases flocks of people waiting outside for a table. I finally decided to pull over and see what all of the fuss was about.

‘Country Ham and Eggs’ definitely proved a reason to get hyped up. The 45 minute wait was well worth it. The diner-esque type place serves all of the basic favorites. Sebastian needed a simple little breakfast nook as this one. And, yum! The home-style offerings are delicious. With a variety of omelets, eggs, pancakes and waffles to choose from, there is something for everyone. A lunch menu is also offered. Located right between the 512 east and west bound roads off of US-1 in Sebastian, Country Ham and Eggs will not let you down. It is a true treasure!
