Marina Mania

Posted by billero on March 24th, 2008

marina1.jpgWhen the hurricane blew through four years ago it left the Miners Marina in Micco, Florida in shambles. But, wait no more, because the emergence of the new Sebastian Inlet Marina is scheduled to open this June.

The 38,000 square foot marina is looking fantastic. Located north of the Sebastian bridge on the east side of US-1, the marina is built to stand a wind resistance of 140 miles per hour. This resistance should prevent any future catastrophes like the one with Miners Marina.

The 3 acre site will house 240 dry-storage slips and 25 floating, modern wet docks. Leasing options will be available for all boat owners. The marina will feature restroom and shower facilities, gas and diesel pumps, and a store. A captain’s lounge and recreation center are also available to those who choose to dock at the Sebastian Inlet Marina.

The new marina has boasted quite a lot of attention due to its ability to accommodate larger boats then the neighboring marinas in Ft. Pierce and Melbourne. Many people have already inquired about reserving slips at the new marina and there are well over 150 names on a list. To become part of the new Sebastian Inlet Marina, call 772/664-8500 or visit their website.

Hey, batter, batter!

Posted by billero on February 26th, 2008

baseball4.jpgAs most people already know, Indian River County is home of the Vero Beach Dodgers Spring Training. Each year, hundreds of locals dust off their baseball caps and head over to Dodgertown Stadium to watch the Los Angeles Dodgers strike up some action.

The joy of sinking your teeth into a “dodger dog”, drinking a crisp beer, or a munching on a Chipwich while watching a good game of baseball is just one of the many pleasures of the Treasure Coast. The beautiful weather simply adds to the serenity.

A landmark in Vero Beach for many years, it is sad to report that this season will be the last one for the LA Dodgers. With the departure of our hometown heroes, the LA Dodgers, we will be welcoming a new set of bats, the Baltimore Orioles. With this said, it is sure to say that the final season of Dodger baseball will be bigger and better than ever.

Come join the local tradition and see just how great Indian River County living really is!

Join the LA Dodgers at Holman Stadium on the following dates:

Atlanta Braves 2/28/2008 1:05 PM
New York Mets 3/2/2008 1:05 PM
Baltimore Orioles 3/3/2008 1:05 PM
St. Louis Cardinals 3/7/2008 1:05 PM
Boston Red Sox 3/9/2008 1:05 PM
Florida Marlins 3/11/2008 1:05 PM
Washington Nationals 3/12/2008 1:05 PM
St. Louis Cardinals 3/14/2008 1:05 PM
